HUSQVARNA SUPERMOTARD RANGE AT EICMA 2009
The Husqvarna Supermotard range presented at the Milan Motorbike Show offers 4 different models ranging from 125 to 630cc.
Without any shadow of a doubt, Husqvarna is the leader of the pack in the Supermotard sector. In the early ‘90s, they were the first to run an official team in the various national championships (the French was the first) and to introduce a Supermotard model in their line up.
These bikes were specially designed to meet all the requirements of this very specific discipline and brought great success to our riders in the main Italian and Supermoto championships.
World champions in 2009 with Adrien Chareyre, champions in the world of industry and leaders in the as yet unfinished 2009 season, Husqvarna has transformed the machines that every year dominate race tracks the world over into a range of production machines to suit every type of rider.
Customers can range from youngsters with their first Motard to riders wishing to use their Husqvarna for daily commuting and the occasional out of town ride to those wanting to ride the same machines as the world champions.
The SM 125, SM 450 and 510 and the hottest item at the Milan Show, the SM 630 have all been completely renewed with three key elements in mind: performance, safety and reliability.
The SM 125 is the starting point for those wanting to experience the thrills of off-roading. Now fitted with electronic injection, this two-stroke meets Euro 3 requirements like the rest of the Husqvarna Supermotard range.
The frames on the SM 450 and SM 510R have been completely renewed and fuel injection systems fitted. Development work on the new SM 450 and SM 510 R was based on experience gained in the Supermoto World Championship series and includes a twin exhaust system that adds to the winning look and sound of these machines.
The new SM 630 encapsulates Husqvarna's racing spirit in a "street" bike.
This new model is the embodiment of all the know-how Husqvarna has acquired over ten years of racing and winning in the supermotard category. The SM 630's greatest gifts are its light weight and the fact that it is so easy to use the power from its magnificent single cylinder 600cc engine.
The SM 630 is the perfect bike for dealing with city traffic and this “Urban Cross” from Husqvarna boasts all Italian design and style. |
