HUSQVARNA TAKES MULTIPLE PODIUMS AT 2012 A4DE FINALE
10/29/2012
Australia's premier off road event, the A4DE (Australian 4 Day Enduro) has concluded for 2012, the final day of competition saw competitors face changeable conditions for day fours final moto.
The Husqvarna racing team riders began the final round looking to secure strong finishes in their individual attempts to take out class victories and podium finishes for the 2012 A4DE.
Husqvarna factory rider Alex Salvini challenged for victory as defending champion in the E1 class, Salvini continued his chase of Warrugul local, Daniel Milner (Yamaha), who had led the event outright from the first day of competition, Salvini eventually settling for 2nd spot in E1.
“I had a great time this year, I genuine enjoy racing out here, the level of competition is so strong and these guys have put on another great event. My Husqvarna TE 250R was strong all week but we just couldn't quite catch Daniel. Special thanks again to Paul and all the team at Paul Feeney Group Husqvarna, it's always a huge effort to finish on the podium of a multi day event like the A4DE, it would have been great to get the win, maybe next year.”
Husqvarna racing's Glenn Kearney led the E2 class for the majority of the event, staging an ongoing battle with Yamaha's Matt Phillips with mere second separating the pair heading into Saturday's final moto. Kearney's commitment to take the win was overshadowed by Phillips on the day with the Husqvarna rider forced to settle for second spot on the E2 podium.
“It was a tough day today, the shorter course meant that you just couldn't afford any mistakes and you had to be on the pace from the start, I was pleased with the way I rode today but Matt was just that bit quicker and unfortunately that cost us the E2 win. The TE 310R has been great all week, Thanks again to Joel, Vic and the rest of the race staff at Paul Feeney Group Husqvarna. Thanks again also to the 2012 season sponsors: Link International, Pirelli tyres, Motul products, Ferodo brakes, RK chains, JT sprockets and Polisport.”
Husqvarna TE 310R mounted Damian Smith dominated the Vet's category from start to finish, Smith set the tone on day one and never looked like being challenged for the victory, finishing with a very healthy two minute plus lead over Yamaha's Kirk Hutton. The A4DE win follows Smiths AORC championship win to deliver the perfect 2012 season for Smith and Husqvarna.
“It was fantastic to come away with the Veterans class win in the 4 day, the TE 310R was faultless across all four days, the organizers have put in a huge effort to deliver a great event. Thanks also to my sponsors and to all involved in helping me throughout the year.“
Husqvarna racings Luka Bussa had a consistent 4 day campaign finishing a creditable 7th behind former A4DE champ Jarrod Bewley.
“My TE 250R was great, Joel and the boys have done a great job all week, thanks again to Paul Feeney Group Husqvarna for their support for 2012 and of course the 2012 season sponsors”

Paul Feeney: “Still a great result for the boys, I know that they didn't leave anything in reserve and to finish second in both E1 & E2 classes is still a strong performance for the Husqvarna brand. Congratulations to Damian (Smith), he has had an outstanding year in the veteran's class winning every single race in the AORC and then backing that up with the A4DE win. Thanks again to the organizers and of course our 2012 season sponsors.”
