On the FAR Husqvarna Racing team TE250, Thomas was leading and riding well in the early stages, although he injured his toe when he came into a tight section and with a backmarker in front of him, he made a mistake and hit a tree. After that he couldn't get back up to the leaders, and third was the best he could manage.

This hard-fought podium puts Thomas in second position in the overall ranking after four races, as well as only four points behind the series leader. However, it wasn't such a successful event for European Cross Country champion Simo Kirssi, who could only manage 13th in the XC1 class due to a bad start, as well as struggling with his fitness levels.
