For the third round in a row, REVO Husqvarna UK produced a top-10 finish in the MX2 class of the FIM Motocross World Championship.

Riding his FC 250 at the MXGP of Sweden at Uddevalla, Dylan Walsh qualified in ninth which gave him a solid gate-pick for both points-paying motos.

A great start in moto one saw him circulating inside the top five on the opening laps and he held position in the top 10 for the full race duration.

Following another good start in moto two, Dylan worked his way up to fifth in the early stages before dropping back to ninth to equal his season-best score of eighth overall.

On the back of two top-10 finishes, Dylan’s team-mate Alvin Östlund went into his home GP looking for solid results but after struggling to 20th in qualification he was put on the back foot with a poor gate-pick for the main races.

Gating outside the top 20 in the opening moto, he fought his way up to 18th and after another hard race he came home two places higher up the leaderboard in race two.

The team will now sit out the final two rounds of the championship in Turkey and China.

Mark Yates (Team Principal)
“It’s been a great weekend for the team. For our final grand prix for Dylan to have two excellent rides and go 10-9 for eighth overall is a really solid result and I’m very pleased for him and everybody involved.

“Everyone has worked so hard this season and after today it feels as though all the effort has been worthwhile.

“Dylan has had a tough year but he’s shown his true potential today and I know he will grow from here. We must remember that it’s only his first full season of world championship racing and he has made his presence felt.

“I felt for Alvin this weekend. He threw everything into his home GP, put a lot of pressure on himself and had to work very hard for a couple of results I know he’s not happy with.

“That’s three top-10 finishes in a row now which is brilliant for the team. It’s been a huge team effort throughout the season and I’m delighted that we’ve signed off with another great result.

“In just our first season racing GPs I feel as though we’ve established ourselves as one of the top teams in the paddock. It’s been tough at times but what a rewarding journey for us.”

Dylan Walsh
“Today’s been pretty good for me! I expect to be running in the top 10 every weekend so it feels good to prove it again. If I get the start then I know I have the speed to run near the front.

“I really liked the track today – it’s my first time here and I feel that it suited me.”

Alvin Östlund
“It was a tough day but my riding was good. I made it hard for myself because the qualifying race was not good and I was 20th.

“This meant that that my gate pick was so bad so even with a good start I was too far on the outside. I had to work hard but made some good passes with aggressive riding.

“It would have been nice to make something good at home but it wasn’t easy for me today and I’m disappointed to not end the day higher up after finishing in the top 10 at the last two rounds.”
