The Moto3™ class was redefined from the old 125cc division in 2012, and for more than a decade has been the platform for MotoGP champions of tomorrow to hone their craft. Moto3 consists of tight technical constraints for the 250cc race machinery that hits top speeds of 240kmh and also an age bracket of 18 to 28 that tends to focus on emerging youth and talent.

Moto3 is the first staging point for aspiring racers in the FIM Grand Prix World Championship and after graduation from popular series’ such as JuniorGP, Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, Northern Talent Cup, the Asian Talent Cup and other promotion schemes.

Husqvarna Motorcycles re-entered Moto3 as a principal contender for trophies in 2020. During that season the brand celebrated its first ever Grand Prix win in Misano, San Marino. It also triumphed in 2021 and registered a top five finish in the Rider’s championship.

2022 represented yet more progression. Ayumu Sasaki gathered two victories and teammate John McPhee also prevailed with the FR 250 GP. Husqvarna Motorcycles machines appeared on a Grand Prix podium nine times and Sasaki found his way to 4th position in the final standings.

Husqvarna Motorcycles continues to look to the future with its efforts and exposure at the highest level and the biggest window for motorcycle sport promotion. Expansion into the intermediate Moto2™ competition occurred for 2023 and the brand began a new association with a proven race team. LIQUI MOLY Husqvarna Intact GP ensured four riders would be on the Grand Prix grids. Sasaki was joined by Dutchman Collin Veijer in Moto3 while Darryn Binder and Lukas Tulovic led the charge in Moto2.
