Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing lit up round seventeen of the 2025 FIM Motocross World Championship at Arnhem, with Kay de Wolf storming to a flawless 1-1 on home sand; to close the MX2 title chase to within 15 points. Liam Everts backed up his teammate with gritty 4-6 finishes, securing fifth overall and strengthening Husqvarna’s manufacturers’ tally. Returning to the Dutch calendar after the likes of Valkenswaard and Assen, Arnhem proved a brutal showcase of classic sand racing. Deep ruts, bottomless braking bumps, and evolving lines kept riders fighting for every metre on the 1680-metre circuit. With fans lining the fences in force, the atmosphere was charged as local favourite de Wolf chased down vital points in his quest for the red plate. Race one saw de Wolf recover quickly from a mid-pack start. Slicing his way from seventh to third by lap five, he then hunted down Andrea Adamo with a decisive inside-line move. By lap twelve he was into second, and within three laps he had reeled in Sacha Coenen to take the lead in front of a roaring Dutch crowd. Once ahead, de Wolf’s composure shone through as he controlled the tempo, stretching clear to take a commanding tenth moto win of the season. Everts also shone in the opening moto. The Belgian launched out of the gate into third and held strong through the opening half before settling into fourth. Though unable to match the late-race pace of the podium trio, his consistency kept rivals at bay, securing a composed fourth at the flag. Race two delivered another masterclass from de Wolf. Patient in the early laps, he shadowed Camden McLellan before striking on lap five to take over at the front. Despite constant pressure, the Dutchman never faltered, expertly managing the gap as the track grew rougher. With his rhythm never broken, he completed a perfect 1-1 sweep by 1.7 seconds, sealing his second consecutive Grand Prix victory and narrowing Simon Längenfelder’s series lead to just 15 points. Everts again started strongly in race two, briefly running second before settling into sixth. A strong mid-race push kept him in touch with the lead group, but a late fade on the physically punishing surface meant he crossed the line sixth, banking another important haul of points. The weekend’s results dramatically reshaped the MX2 title picture. De Wolf now sits on 768 points - just 15 behind leader Längenfelder (783) with four rounds to go - while Everts holds seventh overall on 538 points, only ten behind McLellan in sixth. The Nestaan Husqvarna squad leaves Arnhem with renewed momentum, the roar of home fans behind them, and everything still to play for in the final run-in of the MX2 World Championship. #1 - Kay de Wolf: “It’s unreal to finally get my first GP win here at home. I’ve been working so hard for this over the past few years, and having just missed out before, to finally make it happen in front of the Dutch fans is incredible. The atmosphere was unbelievable - the crowd alongside the track gave me so much energy, and their support really means the world. Winning both races here makes it even more special. The track was tough and you could never switch off, but I felt strong all weekend and managed both motos the way I needed to. In Race 1 it was all about staying patient before making my move, and in Race 2 I just focused on being smooth and riding my own pace even with McLellan pushing hard. Closing the gap in the championship like this is exactly what we were aiming for - now it’s game on for the last four rounds. A huge thank you to the whole team and everyone who’s been behind me - this one means a lot.” #72 - Liam Everts: “I’m happy with the positives I can take from this weekend. In the first moto I felt really good - running third early and then riding a solid race to take fourth. The second moto was tougher - I had a good start but just couldn’t quite maintain the same pace until the end. Still, two consistent results, good points for the championship, and I know there are things to build on. The team did a great job, and I’m looking forward to pushing again next weekend.” Results - 2025 FIM Motocross World Championship, Round Seventeen: MX2 - Overall: 1. Kay de Wolf (Husqvarna) 50pts; 2. Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's RJ Hampshire concluded a highly-impressive first 450MX season with a fourth-place result in Round 11 of the 2025 Pro Motocross Championship, with teammate Malcom Stewart equaling his best finish of the year in P6 at Budds Creek. Piloting the Husqvarna FC 450 Factory Edition, Hampshire charged to the fifth-fastest combined time during the morning's 450MX qualifying sessions, maintaining his front-running pace that has been on display throughout his 2025 outdoor campaign. Across the two-moto format, the 29-year-old posted a 4-3 scorecard, which earned him fourth overall for the weekend, and sealed P5 in the series standings after 11 events across the United States. In what was a convincing first season in the 450MX division, Hampshire claimed six top-five finishes with his form increasing throughout the latter stages of the series. A P2 result at the Ironman National was his highlight amid spectacular consistency all season long. "I feel like I rode the best I have all season at Budds Creek across both the motos," commented Hampshire. "I got a good start in Moto 1, but just couldn’t make a pass on the rider in front of me for the whole 30 minutes, which was frustrating. Then in race two, I made a good push there at the end after another strong start, and both my bike and body are getting a lot more comfortable toward the end of these motos now. Overall, I'm happy with the day and my whole rookie 450MX season in general – that’s the best outdoors series I have had by far. Thank you to the team, we’ll take this form into SMX!” 450MX teammate Stewart and his Husqvarna FC 450 Factory Edition powered to sixth at Budds Creek via 7-6 moto finishes, and earned seventh in the final 450MX standings with two P6 finishes as his season-high results. Additionally, Stewart’s result on Saturday elevates him to third position in the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) points tally, entering with 20 markers once the post-season begins with SMX Playoff 1 in Concord, North Carolina, on September 6. "It’s nice to get P6 overall to end the day here at Budds Creek!" reflected Stewart. "I’m stoked to climb up into third overall in points for SuperMotocross, too – that is really awesome. Overall, I felt really good today, Budds Creek always treats me well, and now we’ll take this weekend off and get ready for the final three races of 2025 and give it everything we’ve got." Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Amateur Factory Elite prospect Landon Gibson was also on track with the Husqvarna FC 250 Factory Edition, racing to a promising 23-14 scorecard and posting 20th overall. Lining up alongside the professionals was an invaluable experience for the 16-year-old, who will now revert his focus to SMX Next for the finals series. “It was definitely a learning experience for me today,” commented Gibson. “Moto 1 was a big struggle, before I regrouped for race two and launched to a good start. I fought hard the whole moto, so all-in-all, it was a good way to see what the speed of the pro class is like, and it was awesome to do it alongside my team.” Results 450MX Class – Budds Creek National 1. RJ Hampshire took another top-five finish in Round 10 round of the 2025 Pro Motocross Championship at Unadilla, with his fourth position complemented by Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing 450MX teammate Malcom Stewart’s seventh overall. Equipped with the Husqvarna FC 450 Factory Edition, Hampshire posted the sixth-fastest time during the morning's 450MX qualifying sessions, acclimatizing to what was a high-speed Unadilla layout this year. Upon charging to the race lead in Moto 1, the 29-year-old would hold position throughout the early stages, once again demonstrating immense speed during his first full season in the premier category. He would ultimately finish the race in fourth, while a P5 in Moto 2 earned him fourth overall for the weekend in what was another impressive showing. Hampshire continues to hold a fifth position in the 450MX championship standings as one round remains in this year’s Pro Motocross Championship. "Another solid weekend in Unadilla, leading my first 450 Class laps, which was cool," commented Hampshire. "I wish I would have felt a little better up front, but that's all part of the learning, and I've always struggled at this track so all-in-all P4 was a solid day. We keep learning a lot each weekend, and my speed is continuing to get better, which we are tuning the bike toward as we go along. I'm stoked on the season so far and ready to finish it off strong at Budds Creek." 450MX teammate Stewart and his Husqvarna FC 450 Factory Edition raced to P10 in the opening moto at Unadilla, before another spirited ride in Moto 2 saw him finish seventh, which sealed him P7 overall on the day. Malcolm’s seventh-place finish at the 10th round sees him move forward in the 450MX standings, currently sitting in seventh overall. "Unadilla is always a tough track for me!" reflected Stewart. "It's one of those tracks where it'll make or break you, and today, I was on the good side of it. I finished up seventh overall, and I'm leaving on two wheels and healthy, which is awesome. I'm really looking forward to Budds Creek, it's always a favorite of mine on the circuit, so we'll come out swinging for the final race of the season next weekend."
