Shared trails, shared stories – reliving the magic of Husqvarna Trek Spain 2024

It’s before sunrise in southern Spain. The air is cool and quiet, the kind of silence that only exists before the day truly begins. Inside the hotel, some riders are finishing breakfast – coffee cups warming their hands, eyes still adjusting to the early light. Outside, others are already suited up, warming their Husqvarna machines. Anticipation is in the air.

One rider summed it up best: “It’s like standing on the edge of something you know you’ll remember for the rest of your life.”

The sound of gear shifts cuts through the morning stillness. This is the beginning of an epic adventure. This is Husqvarna Trek 2024.

Just a day earlier, 53 riders from 12 countries had arrived in Granada. Many came solo. Some arrived with friends. Upon arrival, riders were greeted with goodie bags filled with premium Husqvarna merchandise – everything from apparel to branded accessories. For many, the excitement really began after check-in, and carried through to dinner where new connections were made over hearty Andalusian dishes. That night, as Husqvarna brand ambassador Lyndon Poskitt revealed the riding schedule, the room quieted with focus. Months of meticulous planning by the team at Husqvarna was finally coming to fruition, with each route carefully curated alongside Lyndon to challenge, inspire, and unite. Before each day began, Poskitt and the team provided a detailed brief to everyone about the adventure that lay ahead.

Day one’s ride pushed east from Granada into the Sierra Nevada. The landscapes changed with every turn – olive groves, rocky canyons, dusty trails that felt as ancient as the region itself. As the group climbed higher, the temperature dropped slightly, but the riders pushed on.

“That ascent,” someone said later, “wasn’t just about elevation. It felt like climbing into something deeper.”

The ride was both technical and rewarding. Riders encouraged one another, waited at trail splits, and gave a thumbs-up at every break. Some who questioned their ability on the tougher desert loops found themselves cheered on by new friends and were surprised by what they could do.

Of course, adventure always throws in surprises. Even special guest, and rally-raid legend, Cyril Despres, took a wrong turn, which added 30 unexpected kilometres to his morning. He laughed it off over lunch, and the group teased him good-naturedly.

The ride back was slower, winding through mountain passes before ending with a few deep sand sections that tested skills and balance. That evening, over drinks and laughter, the day’s mishaps turned into stories as everyone reflected on what was an incredible first day of riding.

Day two promised more of everything: more distance, more elevation, and more adventure. The Tabernas Desert brought a raw kind of beauty – wind-carved ridges, endless horizons, and gravel roads that hugged the mountain’s edge. At one lookout, a rider stood in silence for a long moment before saying, “This... this is why I ride.”

Photos were snapped, backs were slapped, and then the group rode on. That night, around a campfire, Despres shared inspiring stories from his racing days and recent adventures on wheels before conversations among the group flowed effortlessly. People shared not just stories, but reflections – on rides back home, on friendships forming in real time, on the feeling of being surrounded by like-minded riders.

By the final morning, there was a brisk chill in the air but warmth in the group. Heated grips were welcomed, but so did the growing sense that something special had already happened. Husqvarna's mechanics were on hand to make precise adjustments – all to get the best out of today's ride. As always, Lyndon Poskitt helped to lead the way around the final loop that took riders through forests and sleepy Spanish towns. It wasn’t just a ride – it felt like a tour of everything southern Spain had to offer. Riders stopped in centuries-old plazas for coffee, sharing small talk, good laughs, and stories from the day — all while quietly reflecting on how far they’d come.

By the time the group returned to the hotel that final evening, there was a sense of achievement, gratitude, and contentment. Bikes were parked for the final time, gear was unpacked, and everyone began to reflect on the journey that had just unfolded. The farewell dinner was more than a meal – it was a celebration of resilience, connection, and shared experience. The room buzzed with laughter and conversation, as riders who hadn’t known each other just days before shared their contact details to stay connected, relived their favourite moments, and started planning future rides.

“It felt less like the end of an event,” one rider said, “and more like the start of something bigger.”

    Lyndon Poskitt later reflected:

“For me, the main highlight was that it brought passionate, like-minded people together from around the world, who all enjoyed great times on and off the bike. Meeting new people is always awesome, and we had such a good group that it made the event really memorable. Husqvarna Trek also opened up opportunities for me to ride in new areas, with each day finishing at a nice, welcoming place to eat great food and wind down. I can’t wait for the next one!”

Cyril Despres shared a similar sentiment:

“Touring Granada on two wheels was amazing. The event includes three days of adventure riding, and brought many people together to ride bikes, enjoy great food, and share stories. Life is short and it’s important to enjoy yourself. There were many nice moments shared together, and I hope that everyone enjoyed it as much as I did.”

After three days of unforgettable riding, countless memories, and meaningful connections, one thing was clear – Husqvarna Trek is more than just a motorcycle event. It’s a unique experience that brings people together, combining the thrill of riding with the warmth of community. It was about friendship, laughter, learning, and the unmatched joy of exploring the world together on two wheels.
