Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Billy Bolt has delivered a determined performance at Germany’s iconic GetzenRodeo to claim a hard-earned third-place finish. Battling through the demanding conditions aboard his TE 300, Billy now strengthens his hold on second in the 2025 FIM Hard Enduro World Championship (HEWC) standings, heading into the seventh and final round in Lesotho next month.
Opening the two-day event in strong style, Bolt stormed to victory in Friday’s short but intense prologue. Earning himself pole position for Saturday’s racing, the Brit was confident of carrying that momentum into the main event. However, a challenging run through Saturday morning’s GetzenRace qualifier saw Billy finish outside the points in 11th while still making the cut for the GetzenChamp afternoon final.
Resetting and refocusing, Billy charged into the afternoon’s GetzenChamp race with renewed determination. Starting strong, he completed the opening lap in fourth, quickly adapting to the deteriorating terrain. With the track conditions worsening as the race progressed, Billy showcased his skill and composure to climb into a well-earned third place, securing another crucial podium result in what has been a highly competitive 2025 season for the Brit.
Although the result wasn’t enough to keep the title fight alive, Billy’s impressive comeback in the afternoon session extends his advantage in the race for the vice-champion’s spot. The HEWC now heads to its dramatic conclusion at the Roof of Africa in Lesotho, held November 20-22, where Bolt will look to seal second overall in the 2025 standings.
Billy Bolt: “It’s been a difficult day for me here in Germany. I struggled a lot during the first race this morning. We had a few issues we had to iron out and obviously, finishing 11th in that one is a long way from where I want to be. On the positive side, we improved things for the second race and I was able to make my way through to finish third. Again, not where I want to be – I’m here to fight for wins. Huge congratulations to Mani for wrapping up another championship, and with that done now, we can look ahead to the last round and then start focusing on the indoors. The whole Getzen team here have put on an amazing event once again, and thank you to the thousands of fans who came here to cheer us all on!”
