Pro Motocross calling for Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing will enter the 2025 AMA Pro Motocross Championship with Malcolm Stewart and RJ Hampshire equipped with the Husqvarna FC 450 Factory Edition, aiming to make their mark in the 450MX Class when the new season commences in Pala, California.

Fox Raceway will play host to Round 1 of the outdoor series that doubles as stage two of the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) this Saturday, May 24. The series will travel throughout the United States this summer, contested over 11 rounds and with the titles set to be decided at Budds Creek Motocross Park in Mechanicsville, Maryland, on August 23.

Fresh from finishing fourth in the AMA Supercross Championship, Stewart was also impressive in Pro Motocross last season on his way to sixth in the 450MX standings. The 32-year-old Floridian has the potential to further build upon his career form and is motivated to factor toward the front of the pack when the gates officially drop this weekend.

"I am really looking forward to another great season racing outdoors!" said Stewart. "So far, this has been a career year for myself getting that first win in Supercross! We had a good outdoor season in finishing sixth overall last year, so I’m looking forward to getting better results this year."

In making his anticipated full-time transition to the Husqvarna FC 450 Factory Edition ahead of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship, at 29 years of age Hampshire is supremely excited for the opportunity that he has earned. Last year he missed the majority of the outdoors while in the 250 Class, but managed a podium at the final round despite limited starts.

Now, after fighting for the 250SX East title in the AMA Supercross Championship and placing third in the final standings, Hampshire opens the next chapter in his career as an exciting new addition to the premier class with Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing. RJ underwent minor surgery to remove hardware in his previously-injured wrist following Salt Lake City, which the surgeon is confident will alleviate any pain experienced during the indoor series.

"Moving from a 250 to a 450 is a pivotal moment in any racer's career, and I’m excited to be making that transition for the outdoors with the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team," Hampshire stated. "I’ve always enjoyed riding a 450, and now I finally get the opportunity to race one full-time. We’ve been putting in the work to make the transition as smooth as possible, and I’m feeling confident and ready for the season to kick-off. After the way the Supercross championship ended, I’m more motivated than ever and ready to embrace the grind this summer."

Nathan Ramsey – Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team Manager: "As we transition from Supercross to the Pro Motocross season, I’m proud of the strides both Malcolm and RJ have made. Malcolm had an incredible Supercross season, earning his first 450SX career win in Tampa and consistently pushing toward the podium, finishing strong with a second-place in Salt Lake. With last year being his first full outdoor season on the 450 since 2013, he is entering this season even more prepared for outdoors, and I fully expect him to be a serious contender this summer. RJ’s season took a different path due to his injury and off-season surgery, but he showed his resilience by jumping into the East Coast series and giving it everything he had. Watching him battle through to the very end in Salt Lake was a testament to his determination. Now, as he makes the exciting move to the 450 Class for outdoors, it's a special moment for all of us at Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing to be a part of his journey from 250s to the 450. Although he recently had a minor procedure to remove the plate from his wrist, we’re confident in the medical team's assessment and believe he’ll perform at the high level we all expect. We’re fired up to get the Pro Motocross season started and can’t wait to see what these two 450 boys will deliver on the track."

RJ Hampshire took another top-five finish in Round 10 round of the 2025 Pro Motocross Championship at Unadilla, with his fourth position complemented by Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing 450MX teammate Malcom Stewart’s seventh overall. Equipped with the Husqvarna FC 450 Factory Edition, Hampshire posted the sixth-fastest time during the morning's 450MX qualifying sessions, acclimatizing to what was a high-speed Unadilla layout this year. Upon charging to the race lead in Moto 1, the 29-year-old would hold position throughout the early stages, once again demonstrating immense speed during his first full season in the premier category. He would ultimately finish the race in fourth, while a P5 in Moto 2 earned him fourth overall for the weekend in what was another impressive showing. Hampshire continues to hold a fifth position in the 450MX championship standings as one round remains in this year’s Pro Motocross Championship. "Another solid weekend in Unadilla, leading my first 450 Class laps, which was cool," commented Hampshire. "I wish I would have felt a little better up front, but that's all part of the learning, and I've always struggled at this track so all-in-all P4 was a solid day. We keep learning a lot each weekend, and my speed is continuing to get better, which we are tuning the bike toward as we go along. I'm stoked on the season so far and ready to finish it off strong at Budds Creek." 450MX teammate Stewart and his Husqvarna FC 450 Factory Edition raced to P10 in the opening moto at Unadilla, before another spirited ride in Moto 2 saw him finish seventh, which sealed him P7 overall on the day. Malcolm’s seventh-place finish at the 10th round sees him move forward in the 450MX standings, currently sitting in seventh overall. "Unadilla is always a tough track for me!" reflected Stewart. "It's one of those tracks where it'll make or break you, and today, I was on the good side of it. I finished up seventh overall, and I'm leaving on two wheels and healthy, which is awesome. I'm really looking forward to Budds Creek, it's always a favorite of mine on the circuit, so we'll come out swinging for the final race of the season next weekend." Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Amateur Factory Elite team prospect Landon Gibson will line up for his first professional Pro Motocross Championship start at Unadilla this Saturday, followed by a second scheduled appearance at Budds Creek for next weekend's outdoor finale. It is a unique opportunity for the 16-year-old to gain invaluable National experience in the pro ranks, joining Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing 450MX teammates RJ Hampshire and Malcolm Stewart for Rounds 10 and 11 of season 2025. Gibson has enjoyed a successful year of amateur competition to date, including a P2 result in last weekend’s SMX Next – Motocross Combine at Ironman Raceway, where he won Moto 2 onboard his Husqvarna FC 250 Factory Edition. The highly-rated teenager out of Peachtree City, GA, will continue competing as an amateur through the 2026 season. “Man, this has been a lifelong dream of mine to line up for my first pro race,” commented Gibson. “I couldn’t be more excited to be doing it under the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna tent and thankful for my team giving me the opportunity. My dreams have come true, and I am ready to go bang bars!” Following these upcoming opportunities in 250MX to build experience, Gibson will continue his SMX Next journey during the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) Playoffs, including the ‘World All-Stars’ events in Charlotte and St. Louis during September. "I’m excited to have Landon Gibson join the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team under the tent this weekend and next," said Nathan Ramsey, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team manager. "Landon is a youthful rider with a great opportunity to showcase his talent in the pro ranks, and this experience will give him a solid gauge of where he stacks up in the 250 class. "He’s proven himself throughout the year in amateur racing, and we’re confident this next step will help him grow even more. What he learns over the next two weeks will be valuable as he heads into the SMX Next World All-Stars. We’re looking forward to seeing him out on the track."

RJ Hampshire celebrates first-career 450MX podium at Ironman National

Premier class newcomer RJ Hampshire has captured a first-career 450MX podium result at the ninth round of the 2025 Pro Motocross Championship, with a 3-4 moto scorecard earning the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing rider second overall in today's Ironman National. Equipped with the Husqvarna FC 450 Factory Edition, Hampshire set the second-fastest time during the morning's 450MX qualifying sessions, before charging to a third-place finish in Moto 1 after battling among the class front-runners at the Crawfordsville, Indiana, circuit. Presented with a brutal race track for Moto 2, Hampshire thrived in the unforgiving conditions, demonstrating his ‘no quit’ attitude as he raced to a P4 result this afternoon. The 29-year-old's pair of finishes resulted in second overall for the weekend. In what is his first season of 450MX competition, Hampshire currently sits an impressive fifth position in the Pro Motocross standings with two rounds remaining. "I feel like I found a little bit more speed over the break," commented Hampshire. "Right now, for me, it’s just a matter of holding that speed for longer when I do get up there. The second moto was crazy, as a lot was going on, and I found myself in a lot of battles and wasn’t sure where I was overall. But we’ve been working for this, and we know this is the level that I can be at, on the podium. Going forward, this is where I expect myself to be fighting for podiums.” 450MX teammate Malcolm Stewart and his Husqvarna FC 450 Factory Edition recovered from a difficult start in Moto 1 up to 10th position, before a strong ride in race two saw the Floridian take seventh place, and record a solid eighth overall on the day. He is also P8 in the point-standings. "Ironman was an okay race for me," reflected Stewart. "I always have fun here and, overall, I think that there were a lot of positives to take away from it. We did the best we could in Moto 1 and I actually felt really good around the race track as I had some really good lines. Decent start in Moto 2, did my best again, rode my own race, and just applied myself. It was pretty hot today and I think a lot of us were feeling the heat in that one! We'll come back and have another swing at Unadilla." Next Race: August 16 – Unadilla, New Berlin Results 450MX Class – Ironman National 1. Hunter Lawrence (Honda) 2.
