CONVINCING CHARGE FROM HUSQVARNA MOTORCYCLES RACERS AT AJMX CHAMPIONSHIP

There were a strong haul of results achieved by Husqvarna Motorcycles competitors throughout the 2023 Australian Junior Motocross Championship (AJMX) held at Acacia Hills in the Northern Territory, including Husqvarna Junior Racing Team rider Ethan Wolfe claiming third place overall in the 65cc 10-U12yrs category and P4 in the 85cc 9-U12yrs ranks.

Under what were extremely trying conditions for the youngsters, the Top End temperatures scorched across each day of the race week, with riders having to navigate difficult track conditions to accommodate for the weather.

Wolfe began his week by qualifying in fourth place position on his TC 65, while posting the ninth fastest time on the TC 85, which set the tone for what was to be a consistent outing of competition for the New South Welshman.

Experiencing a five-moto final format on the 65, Wolfe notched two third-place rides, two fourths, and a sixth, which was enough to claim the final step on the podium in his debut national in the older age group ranks.

The 85cc 9-U12yrs division saw a stacked field of over 40 entrants, which meant that heat races were in place to secure a spot in the finals. Three consistent results in the heats earned Wolfe a spot into the finals, where he would finish in P4 and P11 in the opening motos, before a stellar race victory in the third race landed him fourth overall in the class.

Ethan Wolfe: “I had a great time racing my dirt bikes here in Darwin for the 2023 AJMX championships! I stepped up into a new age bracket this year, which was tough, although I am happy with my results and to finish with a podium in the 65cc 10-U12 class. The competition was really tough and so was the track – the second moto on the 85, I struggled with the muddy track after the watering and had a crash, but was happy to bounce back with a win in the last moto. Overall, I am happy with how I rode and also the track was a lot of fun over the week. A big thank you to all that support my racing.”

Husqvarna Junior Racing Team teammates Heath Fisher and Jack Deveson were unfortunately unable to compete in the 2023 AJMX championship, both currently recovering from recent injuries.

Fellow Husqvarna racer Cooper Rowe achieved success as he performed a clean-sweep of motos in the 125cc (13-U15yrs) category for a decisive victory, as Liam Owens starred in claiming the 250cc (15yrs) crown alongside his third-place result in the 125cc (15yrs) ranks.

In all, there were no less than eight championship podiums for Husqvarna riders in this year's AJMX event.
