Ninth on debut at Fox Raceway National for RJ Hampshire in 450MX Class

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s RJ Hampshire made a successful full-time 450MX debut in Round 1 of the 2025 AMA Pro Motocross Championship at the Fox Raceway National, charging to ninth overall and displaying front-running form throughout the opener alongside teammate Malcolm Stewart.

Hampshire and his Husqvarna FC 450 Factory Edition posted the sixth-fastest qualifying time during the morning sessions, before racing to a hard-fought P6 finish in Moto 1 after being in the thick of battle for the duration of the race.

In Moto 2, the 29-year-old was once again inside the front group as the race commenced, however, an early fall relegated him down the order, and a comeback performance was required from there. Hampshire would claw his way back to P12 and earn ninth overall for the round, ticking the goal of a top 10 leaving the opener despite undergoing recent surgery on his wrist.

“Man, it was cool to be here and be competitive,” commented Hampshire. “I’m a man of my word, I said I would be here, and we qualified in sixth, then in the first Moto we were running in the top-five for a while. Pulled off P6 in that one, which was more than expected, then the second Moto I had another good start, but slid out and kind of mailed it in from there. Thankful to be here, top 10 was our goal, so ninth is a solid result to begin with.”

Alongside Hampshire in the premier class was teammate Stewart, who enters this year's AMA Pro Motocross campaign after a successful Supercross season. Stewart would power his Husqvarna FC 450 Factory Edition to 12th in Moto 1, and was running inside the top 10 in Moto 2, before a late-race crash impacted his result. He was credited P15 overall after an eventful first round.

"Fox Raceway is a tough track,” reflected Stewart. “It’s one of those places that’ll catch you out pretty quickly, which happened to me in Moto 1, where I fell and then came back to 12th place. Moto 2, I had a decent start, and then ended up making another mistake in the back section and went down pretty hard. I had to regroup, call it a day, and I’m just thankful that it wasn’t anything too crazy that will put me out, so we’ll just rest up and get ready for Hangtown."

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing teammates RJ Hampshire and Malcolm Stewart claimed a pair of standout results in Round 7 of the 2025 AMA Pro Motocross Championship at Spring Creek, with Hampshire delivering his second-consecutive P4 result and Stewart achieving a season-high sixth position overall. Equipped with the Husqvarna FC 450 Factory Edition, Hampshire posted the fourth-fastest qualifying time following the morning sessions, before making a sequence of passes through the field in Moto 1 to earn a P4 result at the picturesque Minnesota venue. In Moto 2, the 29-year-old again showed a fast pace alongside calculated poise on a challenging circuit, holding fourth for the majority of the race to be rewarded with P4 overall for the weekend. With his Spring Creek performance, Hampshire climbs to fifth in the 450MX standings in what is his first full year in the premier category. "Today was a really solid day,” reflected Hampshire. “It was my best qualifying and I felt really good on the bike. I had a decent start in Moto 1, then worked my way up, and I felt like I had really good speed in that one to finish P4. Second moto, it wasn't the best start, but I made some quick passes and put down some good laps to find myself in fourth again. Overall, it was my best day on a 450 so far – we'll keep striving toward that overall podium." 450MX teammate Stewart and his Husqvarna FC 450 Factory Edition posted a season-high result at Round 7, qualifying seventh before powering to 7-8 race results, which earned the Floridian sixth overall. As a result, he is now ranked ninth position in the point standings. "Millville was a good time!" commented Stewart. "I was able to hang with the FXR crew, got some fishing in and met some awesome people along the way. In the end, we wrapped up the day with a solid P6, which felt like a good bounce back for me. I’m happy with that ride, and now it's time to reset and get ready for Washougal." Next Race: July 19 – Washougal, Washington Results 450MX Class – Spring Creek National 1. Jett Lawrence (Honda) 2. A podium result in Moto 1 and fourth overall was another sure sign of progression for Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s RJ Hampshire in Round 6 of the 2025 AMA Pro Motocross Championship at RedBud, where 450MX teammate Malcolm Stewart scored a solid eighth-place on the 4th of July weekend. Equipped with the Husqvarna FC 450 Factory Edition and lining up with a USA-themed livery, Hampshire qualified in fifth position before racing to a convincing P3 finish after factoring up-front during the first race of the day at the famed Michigan venue. Moto 2 saw the 29-year-old start in ninth, with a progressive climb through the field netting a sixth-place finish, which was enough for fourth overall. With his RedBud result, class newcomer Hampshire maintains sixth in the 450MX standings after six rounds. “Awesome day at RedBud!” commented Hampshire. “I felt good on the bike and I actually had a bit of that send it kind of vibe on the 450. First moto, I almost got the holeshot and ran up front for a while, which was a good feeling, and I felt pretty strong for the whole moto. Bad start in Moto 2, but I came through the pack fast, and overall it was a big learning day for me. Fourth overall – I'm a man of my word – and I said this is kind of where I would be at this point, and we're getting there. The next goal is to hit an overall podium, which we'll work towards next weekend at Millville." For teammate Stewart onboard his Husqvarna FC 450 Factory Edition, an 11-10 moto scorecard earned the number 27 a welcome eighth overall for the round, which was a strong performance given the nature of the challenging RedBud conditions and depth of the premier class in 2025. "RedBud was a blast!" said Stewart. "I always love the energy here – the fans were unreal, as always. I gave it everything I had and came away with eighth overall. We’ll keep digging and head to Millville next... It's time to face the Whoop Monster!" Next Race: July 12 – Spring Creek, Minnesota Results 450MX Class – RedBud National 1. Jett Lawrence (Honda) 2.
