CONSISTENCY REWARDS RACELINE HUSQVARNA’S TODD WATERS IN TOOWOOMBA PROMX RETRO ROUND

View Profile
Raceline Husqvarna Racing Team owner/rider Todd Waters called upon his years of experience to secure a top-five result in MX1 at Toowoomba's special retro round of the Australian ProMX Championship today in Queensland.   Aboard his Husqvarna FC 450, Waters set the seventh-fastest lap during the Top 10 Shootout, and then rounded the first turn of the opening MX1 moto toward the front of the pack. After an eventful race where he challenged for as high as P3, Waters ended up finishing fifth.

After a flying start to the second moto, former champion Waters climbed into P2 early on. However, as the track got increasingly demanding, he opted to play it safe and again crossed the line in P5 to wrap up the day fifth overall. He's still P5 in the standings with two rounds remaining.

In the MX2 class, Raceline Husqvarna Racing Team teammates Rhys Budd and Jack Mather ended the day eighth and 11th, respectively.

Budd finished ninth in both motos on his Husqvarna FC 250, positioned seventh in the title-race. Alongside him, pro class newcomer Mather took a pair of 10th-place scores for P11 today, and he sits 11th in the championship.

Todd Waters:   "Toowoomba’s always super-challenging for me, as I’m not a hard-pack rider. I’ve been working hard on the bike and feeling more comfortable on it, but I didn’t get the best start to the first moto. I caught up to third and I felt I had speed, but I couldn’t make any passes happen. In the second moto, I got a good start and was in P2, but the track was baked and it was just scary at that point – I didn’t have the extra push the front guys were running. Overall, we’re making progress, and I had some fight this weekend. I’m looking forward to the last two rounds, getting myself further up there and battling with the guys up front."

Rhys Budd:   "Today started decently and I was sixth-fastest in qualifying, but the times were quite close towards the front. I struggled with the starts and wasn’t quite comfortable getting off the mesh today, but somehow I managed to come around the first turn near the top-five in each moto and felt pretty good for the first couple of laps. I just had a couple of tip-overs early in the motos, which made it hard, and I ended up fighting just inside the top 10 in both races. We’ll get back to work and get ready for Gympie."

Jack Mather:   "Today was pretty solid. The starts weren’t great, but I was able to fight through the pack to two top 10s on what ended up being a very technical track. I’m happy with my riding, so I’m looking forward to a track we’re more familiar with at MX Farm."

An increased presence in diverse motorcycle segments and markets has seen the brand sell more than 300,000 units since the acquisition, setting another sales record of 60,801 units in 2021. Racing continues to play a key role in both machine development and market awareness. Wills’ Championship Result Caps Off a Successful First Premier Class Season

View Profile
Husqvarna Racing Team rider Dylan Wills has finished his rookie SX1 campaign in the Australian Supercross Championship (AUSX) fourth overall following another solid display at Wagga Wagga's final round of the 2022 season.

After qualifying in fifth position, Wills and his 2023 Husqvarna FC 450 put in an impressive performance in the heat race by leading some of the early laps and finishing with a creditable P2 result.

During the two-race finals format, Wills finished fifth overall after posting a 6-5 result in the eight-lap motos.

A small mistake in the opening final saw him slip from sixth to ninth on the third lap, but he rebounded to work his way again up to sixth position before crossing the finish-line.

Wills’ top four championship result caps off a successful first premier class season for the Sydney-based rider, who finished a career-high second overall at the previous round in Newcastle.

In addition to the success of Wills, Husqvarna FC 250-mounted Jack Mather broke through for a maiden Australian SX3 Championship victory, courtesy of consistent 4-4 results and fourth overall at the final round.

Dylan Wills:  "Tonight was good, even though the track was breaking down quite a lot in the conditions. It was super-dusty out there, so fighting in the pack was really hard and I was trying to be patient. The heat race was good, but then I did twist my ankle a little bit in a crash during the first final - still salvaging sixth in that one. After that, we rode solid for P5 in the second final for fifth overall and also finished fourth in the championship. I feel like the FC 450 really suits my style, it was a good season and the Husqvarna Racing Team was unbelievable all year."

HUSQVARNA’S WILKSCH CROWNED E3 CLASS AUSTRALIAN OFF-ROAD CHAMPION

View Profile
Husqvarna racer Andy Wilksch has secured his first-career national title after clinching the E3 series in the Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) finale at Wynyard.

Equipped with his powerful Simford Racing Husqvarna FE 501, 26-year-old Wilksch mastered two slippery rounds of enduro racing on Tasmania’s north coast to finish with a brace of P2 performances and comfortably win the E3 crown.

After two days of rain on a clay surface, Saturday’s penultimate round was tight and technical. Despite several small crashes trying to close the gap to the lead, Wilksch decided to play it safe and settled in to claim as many points as possible, finishing second in class.

Sunday’s final round of the AORC today saw conditions improve and Wilksch again looked at the big picture as he tore around the final tests of the 2022 season to again comfortably finish in second position.

In the process, Wilksch secured his first-ever Australian championship, capping off a memorable year for the Victorian.

Young gun Billy Hargy continued to impress in the EJ ranks by claiming third-place results on both days at the final stop of the season, sealing third in points on-board his Husky for the series.

Andy Wilksch:  “I had a bit of a taste of racing in Tasmania at the Australian 4-Day Enduro in 2015 and I knew that if it rained I’d be up against it - Jonte [Reynders] is great in the mud and this is his home event. Initially, it was tough to accept there was someone better than me on the weekend, but I readjusted to get better and learn from it so I could manage the championship. I came into Wynyard with a 20-point lead, so I could afford to drop 10 points a day, but I still wanted to finish the year strongly! Saturday’s tests were really technical and slippery, so you couldn’t afford to relax at all, but conditions improved a lot for Sunday and it was a lot of fun. 2022 has been an awesome year and to finish as the E3 championship has made it even more special.”

Wills showed once again this year that he has the potential to run at the front of domestic MX2 competition, before a rotator-cuff injury unfortunately brought a premature end to his ProMX championship campaign.

Now, the 26-year-old is primed for his SX1 debut and confident that the characteristics of the 450cc platform will allow him to further elevate his performance. He's swiftly found comfort on the new generation Husky and carries a lot of excitement into the four-round series.

The 2022 Australian Supercross Championship commences this Friday evening at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Victoria, as part of the World Supercross Championship (WSX) Australian Grand Prix weekend.

Dylan Wills:  "My mindset is really good and I'm in a good place, just going about my business, not thinking about the weight of it all too much. The transition to SX1 has been exactly what I have needed, so I’ve got a new outlook on it now and I've really been enjoying the change. I'm feeling strong on the bike and the 2023 Husqvarna FC 450 is great - we haven’t found a weakness in it whatsoever in testing and that's always a positive. I've just been enjoying the transition and going day-by-day leading into Melbourne's opening round this weekend."

SATISFYING SX1 DEBUT FOR HUSQVARNA’S WILLS AT AUSTRALIAN SUPERCROSS OPENER

View Profile
Husqvarna Racing Team’s new SX1 racer Dylan Wills finished a satisfying sixth-place in his debut aboard the FC 450 at the opening round of the Australian Supercross Championship. Staged at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Wills turned plenty of heads early in the night by finishing an impressive P3 result in his first-career premier class heat race.

In the SX1 main event, Wills found himself in seventh on the opening lap and worked his way into the top-five through the early stages of the 20-lap encounter.

As the track became rougher and more technical, Wills made a small error with just three laps remaining and dropped a position to eventually finish the final in an inspiring sixth position.

The second round of the Australian Supercross Championship will be held at Adelaide Showgrounds, South Australia, on 29 October.

Dylan Wills:  “To finish sixth in the main and third in my heat race was more than I expected out of myself and I’m really happy with the result. I felt like I rode well at the start of the final, but I got tired due to the limited laps I’ve done on a 450, the first-round nerves and the pressure I’d put on myself. I’m really glad to get the first round of the championship out of the way and it’s a good feeling to know that I belong up there with those guys, plus that my early pace was really good. I’m going to take a lot of confidence from tonight as we head to Adelaide.”

AJMX 85cc CHAMPIONSHIP 1-2 FOR HUSQVARNA JUNIOR RACING TEAM

View Profile
Husqvarna Junior Racing Team’s Heath Fisher capitalised on his experience of riding in hot, humid conditions to take his Husky to the top of the 85cc (12-U14yrs) class at the 2022 Australian Junior Motocross Championship in Rockhampton.

Right from the outset, the talented Townsville-based rider proved to be the one to beat after clean-sweeping his three heat races, with teammate Jack Deveson hot on his heels in second position.

As the track slowly dried out after heavy rain midway through the five-day event, Fisher continued to shine as he stormed to a 1-1-2 scorecard to wrap up his class.

Also equipped with the Husqvarna TC 85, Deveson helped lock out the first two positions of the 85cc podium and was the only rider to beat Fisher all week. He came through the pack in two of his three finals to finish with a satisfying 2-2-1 scorecard.

Meanwhile, Cairns-based rider Braden Plath put an injury-riddled 2022 behind him to finish with a hard-earned fifth overall in the highly-competitive 125cc (15yrs) division and claimed ninth overall on his FC 250 in class.

Fellow Queensland-based Husqvarna rider Liam Owens put in an impressive showing in the 250cc (13-U15yrs) and 125cc (13-U15yrs) class to claim two podiums. He took a final race win on the 250 to finish P2 overall and won the first of the 125 motos on his way to third overall.

Another national championship was won by Husky-mounted Ethan Wolfe in the 65cc (7-U10yrs) division, scoring P1 in two of his three finals to bring home the title aboard his TC 65.

Heath Fisher:  "It’s been a really great week and I felt strong and consistent on the bike the whole time, regardless of the conditions that were thrown at us. I really like this track and I’ve ridden it a few times, but it formed up a lot differently this week due to the fact there weren’t as many big bikes on the track. It was very satisfying to finish the day with the overall and I felt like everything clicked all week."

Jack Deveson:  "This is my first-ever Australian titles podium, so I’m pretty pumped on that and to see a reward for all the hard work we’ve put in this year. I had a couple of horrible starts in the first two finals, but I was still able to work my way through the pack well. I finally got a good start in the last moto and was able to make one pass on my teammate to take the win. All in all, it’s been a great weekend and I couldn’t be happier with the result."

Braden Plath:  "It was a tough week for me, with some up and down results. I scored heaps of holeshots, so that was a positive. I’ve had a rough year with injuries – I broke my arm earlier this year, then tore ligaments off the top of my foot not long after returning – and I only got back on the bike fairly recently. When I think about that, it was awesome to do as well as I did and I'm excited to keep working into the future."

HUSQVARNA RIDER WILKSCH CONTINUES AORC WINNING WAYS AT KINGSTON SE

View Profile
Husqvarna-mounted Andy Wilksch has continued his convincing streak in the Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) with a dominant double round victory at Kingston SE.

Greeted with wild weather and a wide range of surface conditions for Saturday’s ninth round of the series, Wilksch and his powerful Simford Racing Husqvarna FE 501 were unstoppable in the E3 class.

The Victorian consistently posted fastest times on his way to a comfortable class victory by almost two minutes, and claiming the outright win in the process

In contrast to the previous day’s faster conditions, Sunday’s sprint tests threw up rutted, technical trails that required the utmost concentration. However, Wilksch again thrived and proved to be a master when the going gets tough, taking back-to-back E3 victories and was second fastest outright.

Wilksch now holds a commanding lead in the E3 class with two rounds left to run at Wynyard, Tasmania, on 8-9 October.

The fine results of Husqvarna riders continued in the EJ category, as rising talent Billy Hargy also claimed a pair of podiums with third position on both days.

Andy Wilksch:  “It was a good weekend for me and to come away with another two E3 victories and an outright at what was my home round was a great feeling. Yesterday saw us having to deal with all sorts of weather and very windy conditions, but I was quite comfortable with the terrain as it’s similar to what I race at home and I was able to win every test for the first time this year and finish with a decent gap on everyone. Today’s tests were a lot tougher, very one-lined and meant you really couldn’t afford to relax, but I was able to finish strongly and come home with second outright and another E3 win. After this weekend we’re now in a really good position for the title and I haven’t been in this situation since I was a junior – it’s a surreal feeling, but I’m excited to finish the year strongly at Wynyard in a few weeks time.”

Hattah Desert Race Podium Success for Husqvarna Motorcycles and Waters

View Profile
Husqvarna Motorcycles' Todd Waters has landed on the podium on debut at the 2022 Hattah Desert Race, scoring a strong runner-up result at the prestigious event.

Waters was fifth quickest in the Prologue courtesy of a 5m05.376s, before narrowly missing out on victory in the Top 10 Shootout by 0.508s as he qualified second for Sunday’s race.

The Queensland-based rider went on to secure P2 following four gruelling hours of competition, completing the eight laps with a total time of 4h10m15.368s aboard his FE 501 - also winning the Over 450cc Four-Stroke category.

Joining Waters on the podium was Husqvarna-mounted Jack Simpson, who displayed great form throughout both days and added to his Finke Desert Race podium achieved last month.

Simford Racing rider Andy Wilksch made it three Husqvarna riders in the top four outright, while teammate Samuel Pretscherer was victorious in the Under 19s category and young Riley Delaney rode his Husky to victory in the Junior Small Wheels Race.

Todd Waters:  “I was excited to make my debut at Hattah and to finish on the podium was a real reward for myself and the whole team involved. The FE 501 was awesome to ride, my first time racing that bike and a first for me in the desert, so we were stoked to win our class as well! It definitely wasn't an easy race, but the result was a good one for us and I look forward to coming back here again in the future after what we learned this weekend."

RUNNER-UP RESULT FOR HUSQVARNA-MOUNTED SMITH IN FINKE DESERT RACE

View Profile
Schwarz Racing Husqvarna Desert Team rider Jacob Smith powered to the runner-up result in the 2022 Finke Desert Race over the weekend, starring throughout the event with his front-running pace.

The experienced 33-year-old showed impressive speed to finish Saturday’s Prologue with the fastest time outright of 4m44.4s, which was nearly four seconds quicker than his closest rival.

Starting first in Saturday’s opening stage 226km stage from Alice Springs, Smith confirmed his podium challenge as he was the second rider to reach Finke with a time of 1h49m16.8s.

Returning to Alice Springs to conclude the prestigious event, Smith completed the final leg quickest of all with a 1h48m52.7s, which secured him the runner-up position outright well beneath the previous race record.

Meanwhile, OBR team rider Jack Simpson made it two Husqvarna FE 501s on the outright podium, completing the rostrum in third upon his return to Finke. Also Husky-mounted, Ivan Long claimed sixth position, with Schwarz Racing riders Sam Davie and Rick Ireland eighth and 10th overall.

Simford Racing’s Billy Hargy dominated the 250 four-stroke class onboard his FE 250, winning both stages and the event in the category, while Danielle Foot heroically finished the event first in class onboard her TE 250i after completing navigation duties in the Cars down to Finke and being flown back to Alice Springs to start on the bike.

Jacob Smith:  “We laid low heading into Finke and then started well. I had a really good Prologue and put it on pole, which was cool. Obviously started on the front row and got a good jump off the line, I led for the first 30-odd kilometres. I had a bit of moment - hit a square edge that I didn’t see and that sort of rattled me for a little bit. Then Jack [Simpson] got by me and I was in dust for probably 120 kilometres. Once I got back by Jack, I put some time into him and got down to Finke in second, so I was pretty happy with that overnight. I knew Walshy [David Walsh] was going to be pretty hard to beat, he was just on another level, so on the way home I went as fast as I could. I knew it was going to be big gap to try and pull in three minutes, but I just wanted to stay in second and overall I’m pretty pumped with the result, all things considered.”

BRIAN BOGERS RACES TO THIRD OVERALL AT THE MXGP OF SPAIN

View Profile
Standing Construct Husqvarna Factory Racing riders, Brian Bogers and Pauls Jonass, have just posted strong results at round nine of the 2022 FIM Motocross World Championship. Intu Xanadu - Arroyomolinos hosted the fixture that was officially dubbed the Grand Prix of Spain; thousands of fans flocked to the track to bask in the intense heat that transformed the event into a true test of fitness.

Brian Bogers is riding better than ever before and the Spanish stop was a testament to that, as he mirrored the race leaders in moto one and came so close to a podium finish. Swift manoeuvres on the first lap helped him climb from the lower half of the top ten up to fourth, which is a spot that he held all of the way to the chequered flag. Eleven measly seconds separated him from the race winner at the end of the moto. The second moto was yet another impressive showing for Bogers, who managed to make another step forward and secure third place. '189' climbed from the edge of the top five to third, much like in the first moto, and held the position until the very end, which helped him place his FC 450 onto the podium for the second time this term! 4-3 scores left him in third overall and helped him climb to sixth in the championship standings. Focus has shifted to round ten of the 2022 FIM Motocross World Championship now. The superb old-school track of Ernee, which has hosted countless poignant moments in the sport, will be the setting for the event on June 04/05. Brian Bogers:  "This feels amazing. It was a tough Grand Prix, but that third in the second moto was a great moment. I am so happy to be back on the box and I want to be up here more. My riding feels so good and I think it is clear that the speed is there to do this more often. I just feel so good on my FC 450 at the moment, no matter where we are racing." Pauls Jonass:  "I thought this was going to be a good weekend, after being first in free practice, but I struggled as the track got rougher. It is just frustrating at the moment – I am trying my very best and I got ninth twice. I am eager to get back to work and make some progress at the next two rounds of MXGP." Results – 2022 FIM Motocross World Championship, Round Nine
MXGP – Overall 1. Maxime Renaux (Yamaha) 50pts; 2. Glenn Coldenhoff (Yamaha) 38pts;  3. Brian Bogers (Husqvarna) 38pts… 9. Pauls Jonass (Husqvarna) 24pts MXGP – Moto One 1. Husqvarna Motorcycle's Waters Runner-Up in Australian Four-Day Enduro Debut

View Profile
Todd Waters has continued his inspired 2022 off-road campaign with a stunning fourth outright and second in the E2 class result at the Australian Four-Day Enduro (A4DE) in Erica, VIC.

It was Waters’ first-ever experience at not only the four-day, but also the enduro racing format, and he proved his ability to continue adapting and excelling at whatever he points his wheels to.

Waters was able to set himself up early by keeping the E2 class leader in his sights on the opening day, but a couple of crashes in the cold, greasy conditions the racers encountered on day two saw him drop more than a minute behind.

However, Waters was able to turn the tables on day three as he charged through the varied, challenging special tests to the class win and third outright.

Day four was Waters’ day as the current ProMX MX1 red plate-holder put the rest of the field to the sword during the grass-track finale, claiming the day’s class and outright honours after the 15-minute moto had been completed.

Waters strong finish saw him consolidate his P2 result in the E2 class and narrowly miss out on a third outright by a scant nine seconds after four hard days of racing.

The Queenslander’s focus now turns to the fourth round of the 2022 ProMX Championship in Gillman, South Australia, on May 29.

Todd Waters:  “Coming into my first Australian Four-Day Enduro was pretty daunting and I was nervous, but once I got my head around the enduro formats, the servicing and everything else, it felt a lot more comfortable. A couple of crashes on the second day probably cost me an outright podium position, which was disappointing, but at the same time, I’m proud to have come through the A4DE with a second-place result in the E2 class, take the class win on day three and win the outright on day four.”

Husqvarna Racing Team's Waters Surges Into PROMX Championship Lead at Wodonga

View Profile
Former MX1 champion Todd Waters has surged to the top of the 2022 Australian ProMX Championship standings after a strong second-place showing at the third round of the series in Wodonga, VIC.

Waters and his Husqvarna Racing Team FC 450 were a model of consistency around the rough, rutted Wodonga circuit as he charged to his third-straight podium result in as many rounds, claiming the series-leading red plate in the process.

After posting a fourth-fastest time in qualifying, Waters grabbed a great start in the opening MX1 race and soon took over the lead by lap five, but relinquished it again a few laps later and held position to the chequered flag.

Waters fell early in the first of the back-to-back races, but managed to slice his way through the pack from 18th to a remarkable fifth-place result.

With the thrill and excitement of power delivery from a twist-action throttle, the 12eDrive and 16eDrive make learning so much fun. Skills grow in no time and tentative first steps quickly lead to confidence in control. The 12eDrive is designed for kids aged 3 to 5 years old with an inside leg range of 35-51 cm. Husqvarna Motorcycles and Waters Target Off-Road Success

View Profile
Husqvarna Racing Team motocross racer Todd Waters will continue his quest for titles in the Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) throughout 2022, also set to debut in the Australian Four-Day Enduro (A4DE) and Hattah Desert Race.

Former national MX1 champion Waters was already named to be leading Husqvarna Motorcycles’ in-house factory ProMX effort for another season riding an FC 450, while he will enter AORC as a title favourite in E2 and outright within his own Husky-backed enduro program.

Despite 2022 being his third campaign battling the best off-road racers in the country, 31-year-old Queenslander Waters is still relatively new to sport, having only raced five rounds of the AORC over two shortened seasons.

In that short time, though, Waters has quickly established himself as a serious contender. After finishing third in the AORC E2 standings on debut in 2020, Waters stormed to two E2 class wins at Golden Beach, VIC, last year prior to the season being cancelled.

With the promise of a full season of racing the clock beckoning, Waters will be equipped with the highly-competitive Husqvarna FE 450 in the AORC when it takes off at Cherrabah in Queensland on 19-20 March.

Billy Bolt is crowned 2021 FIM Hard Enduro World Champion

View Profile
Riding to a second-place finish at GetzenRodeo, the eighth and final round of the inaugural FIM Hard Enduro World Championship, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Billy Bolt won the series title. Following a year-long battle with his closest rival Manuel Lettenbichler, Bolt did exactly what was needed at the German extreme race to ultimately tie on points in the final series standings, clinching the championship by virtue of having a higher number of second-place finishes earned throughout the year.

The action at GetzenRodeo was intense. A morning qualifying race saw Bolt and Lettenbichler swap positions at the front for the entire two hours, with Lettenbichler claiming the win by just three-tenths of a second. Going into the afternoon’s final, Bolt knew a runner-up result would secure him the series victory and guarantee his name would go into the history books as the first ever FIM Hard Enduro World Champion.

With the two young riders swapping the lead for the first few laps, Bolt made an uncharacteristic mistake, losing time on his rival and falling back into the clutches of the chasing pack. Struggling to regain his rhythm, the British rider dropped as low as sixth – a position that would have ruled him out of championship contention. However, refocusing and confident that he had the speed to get back to the front, Bolt began to pick his way through his opponents and was soon in second place, chasing down Lettenbichler.

Despite reducing the gap to the leader to under one minute, Billy ultimately crossed the line in second place – enough to top the series standings and become the 2021 FIM Hard Enduro World Champion.

Although Bolt’s performance under pressure at GetzenRodeo was nothing short of incredible, his world title is a result of a hugely successful, and consistent season that has seen the 24-year-old claim three victories and finish on the podium at all but one round of the championship.

Making a big impression at Extreme XL Lagares, the opening round of the series, and despite the shortened race not awarding championship points, Bolt threw down the gauntlet to his rivals and showed he meant business in 2021. At Abestone Hard Enduro, he took his TE 300i to the top of the timesheets on each of the three days of racing, cementing his position as one of the main championship contenders.

Narrowly missing the podium at Romaniacs with a fourth-place finish, Billy bounced back in style, taking a huge victory at the Tennessee Knock Out, despite the added challenge of American racers hungry for success on their home turf. Two further second-place finishes, earned at the HERO Challenge and Hixpania Hard Enduro, gave Bolt a three-point advantage going into main rival Lettenbichler’s home race in Germany, and the rest is history!

Now, with the Hard Enduro Championship concluded for 2021, Billy immediately looks ahead to the opening round of the 2022 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship, where he will be aiming to defend his 2020 title at the five-round indoor series.

Billy Bolt - 2021 FIM Hard Enduro World Champion: “World Champions! What an amazing feeling it is. It’s going to take a while to process this one. I can’t believe I’m the FIM Hard Enduro World Champion. It was a hell of a race today. We all knew what we had to do, and we made it happen. I rode great this morning in the qualifier, but I hurt my finger. I was struggling a little with that in the beginning of the afternoon race and made a lot of mistakes early on. But I settled myself, regrouped and recovered. When I got back up to second, I closed the gap to Mani to one minute, but didn’t want to risk anything. Riding into the finish line as the world champion was such an amazing moment. It’s been a great year and I can’t thank all of the team enough for their support. We did it!”

Andi Hölzl - Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team Manager: “We’re super happy and proud of Billy that he managed himself so well to get the title this year – the first FIM Hard Enduro World Champion in the books. He showed amazing skills throughout the season and a level of maturity worthy of a champion. The fight for the title this year has been so intense, and both Billy and Mani have definitely taken the discipline to a new level. It’s exciting for the team, they have worked so hard all season, but also for the sport in general – it’s really put hard enduro on the map globally. Hopefully we can continue like this next year!”

Showcasing new transport solutions for the future  Husqvarna Motorcycles will exhibit its E-Mobility prototype machines, the E-Pilen Concept, the Vektorr Concept and the Bltz Concept at the IAA Mobility Show in Munich from 7-12 September 2021. The IAA Mobility has been the place to be seen for pioneering, innovative transport companies since the very dawn of powered transport, when the exhibition and conference was first held over 120 years ago. The symposium has never been more relevant against a background of new solutions for personal transportation in a demanding and rapidly changing world, and the IAA Mobility Show is the perfect forum to display the emerging, trail-blazing E-Mobility solutions from Husqvarna Motorcycles. The three concept machines that Husqvarna Motorcycles will display at IAA Mobility are a continuation of the values established in the brand’s existing street range, being progressive, smart, dynamic and oriented towards purity of design. The E-Pilen Concept is inspired by the unique style of the Vitpilen and Svartpilen road machines. With a power output of 8 kW and a range of 100 km, the E-Pilen Concept will be the perfect choice for the urban commuter and leisure rider. By specifying a modular, swappable battery system that allows the power pack to be exchanged, the E-Pilen Concept demonstrates its utility and appeal to those considering the switch to electric. HUSQVARNA MOTORCYCLES WOMEN'S TRAILRIDE HUGELY SUCCESSFUL AT CONONDALE

View Profile
Jemma Wilson's second Husqvarna Motorcycles Women's Trailride was an immense success at Conondale in Queensland between 19-20 June, with a total of 230 ladies getting together to experience the enjoyment of two-wheels and off-track entertainment at Green Park.

The crew from Jemma Wilson Events put on a brilliant weekend of encouraging women to get out and ride dirt bikes together, coupled with fun-filled activities during the day, the highlight of which was the Ice Cream Relay Race, as well as live music and a bar by the campfire on Saturday night to recap the thrills of day one. Come Sunday, it was time to do it all over again!

From grass tracks to motocross, long and short enduro loops, the riding on offer catered to all different levels of experience and made for a memorable couple of days on the bike for all who were in attendance. The Husqvarna Motorcycles Women's Trailride is the ultimate destination for ladies to get out and ride together in a professional event setting.

A selection of hand-picked experts were on location and available to make the experience as enjoyable as possible for everybody in attendance, including helpful mechanics who shared their knowledge along the way, pied-piper sweep riders and trained coaches that assisted anywhere and everywhere throughout the two days.

Originally launched in 2019, last year was unable to go ahead, which led to even more anticipation for the 2021 return. Needless to say, the hundreds of riders and personnel each made the most of the occasion and had a remarkable time celebrating ladies' involvement in the sport.

Visit www.husqvarna-motorcycles.com to view the complete range of Husqvarna Motorcycles enduro and motocross models.

Rosie Lalonde (Marketing Manager, Husqvarna Motorcycles Australia):  “Being a part of the second Husqvarna Women’s Trailride run by Jemma Wilson Events was fantastic. Jemma and her crew run a smooth and fun event, which is focused on encouraging girls of all ages to get out and ride their dirt bikes! We are proud to be part of this unique experience and cannot wait for the next one.”

Jemma Wilson:  "The all-ladies environment is really special and we truly promote an inclusive vibe - all the girls look out for one another, from three-year-olds right through to those in their 60s. We've had everybody from near first-timers and girls who used to race together around 10 years ago, so it's really nice to see them crossing paths at our events. Because we encourage everybody to come by themselves and leaving the hubbies at home, we help in unloading bikes, provide professional mechanics who also help teach the girls, pied-pipers and heaps of sweep riders who are all hand-selected to be a wonderful help. We first did it in 2019 and had to cancel last year, so it was great to be back this year and we had the perfect amount of riders join in. Off-track, this time around we had some live music on Saturday night, a Young Henrys bar with cocktails being made as well, making new friends around the fire with women who have had the same experience as each-other that day, so it was fantastic. It's so positive to see that everyone has to start somewhere, that riding can be such a great time and that we're all there to have a good time together."

HUSKY TREK ROARS BACK INTO ACTION WITH NORTHERN EXPLORER

View Profile
Husqvarna Motorcycles customer experience events roared back into action with the second-ever Husky Trek, seeing 47 riders and 23 support staff explore Northern NSW over four days in early June. It was a tumultuous lead-up to the event, with bushfires devastating the region in early 2020, followed by the COVID-19 pandemic, before flooding threatened the re-scheduled Trek just one month before.

Perseverance prevailed and riders were treated to an outstanding route set by the Wilkinson family (father Danny and sons Riley and Clay), starting at the idyllic seaside Discovery Park Emerald Beach and taking in overnights at Glen Innes, Tenterfield and Evans Head before returning to Emerald Beach.

Featuring all types of terrain imaginable – from red clay just 5kms out of Emerald Beach, to single-track rainforest, beach sand, open flowing cattle-country dirt roads, challenging creeks, hills and multiple-‘chilli’ hard route sections – the Husqvarna 701 Enduro showcased why it is an ideal partner for adventure riding in Australia, with riders conquering the diverse track effortlessly.

The 701 Enduro Trek boasts a unique aspect of being one of the only single-model adventure rides in Australia, meaning riders experience the thrills of the trail and nightly atmosphere with like-minded comrades, offering a rare and distinctive camaraderie.

Even inclement weather with chilly mornings and rain on day two couldn’t dampen the spirit – the rain simply making conditions superb for days three and four!

Along with the outstanding route, riders were able to immerse themselves in the adventure experience with full support offered by the Husqvarna Motorcycles Australia crew – including luggage, technical and medical support, as well as lead riders clearing the track and sweep riders bringing up the rear to ensure all got to the nightly home base with a smile on their face.

Special guest rider Jemma Wilson – a 5-time member of the winning ISDE Women’s World Trophy Team and multiple Australian Women’s Enduro Champion – came along on her first foray into the adventure scene and was completely hooked by the end of day one.
The feature video highlighting all the action from the 2021 Husky Trek is coming soon.

Husqvarna Motorcycles Australia would like to thank all riders for their support and for attending the event, as well as all staff and support crew who made it possible.

Husqvarna Motorcycles and REPLAY redefine protective denim

View Profile
Husqvarna Motorcycles and premium Italian casual clothing brand REPLAY are proud to present the latest result of their partnership – a clothing collection aimed squarely at style-conscious riders in the fast-evolving two-wheeler market. Riders are increasingly favouring their motorcycle for transport, especially in city and urban areas, and there is growing demand for urban mobility products that provide comfort and safety while riding, yet maintain wearability and good looks off the motorcycle. The collection’s riding jeans feature a pioneering new denim fibre. Traditional motorcycling denimwear has two layers, with denim over Kevlar® or one of its derivatives. The new denim fibre adopted by REPLAY uses a single layer to provide protection with comfort without compromising looks. This fabric technology merges REPLAY’s premium Hyperflex denim with CORDURA® fibre, spun together in a single layer to allow clothing to be cut for a contemporary fit, incredible comfort and protection. The jeans have CE Level B certification with abrasion resistance up to 45 km/h. Other benefits of the fabric are that garments made from it are up to half the usual weight of denim jeans offered as motorcycle clothing. The organic fibres and single-layer technology make it breathable, and four-way stretchability of up to 50% ensures comfort. A stylish and functional Replay Padded Vest is also part of the collection and guarantees free movement thanks to dynamic stretch panels. Inner and outer front pockets are complemented by an easy-to-access zipped back pocket. A subtle Husqvarna Motorcycles print adorns the left breast. The Replay Zip Hoodie comes in dark blue or black and is warm and functional, with taped zippers and an integrated key pocket. Furthermore, a Husqvarna Motorcycles emblem decorates the front. The Replay Crew Neck Tee is available in grey or the motorcycle brand’s familiar yellow. The Husqvarna Motorcycles print is proudly displayed on the front of the shirt. Australian Factory Racing Teams Outlined For 2021

View Profile
National MX1 champion Todd Waters has signed to remain part of the Husqvarna Motorcycles family for another year and will pull double-duty in both the Australian Motocross Championship (ProMX) and Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC).

Waters is an important ambassador for the Husqvarna Motorcycles brand and will split his time between the Husqvarna Factory Racing Team riding the FC 450 in motocross and the FE 450 in enduro, where he placed third in E2 on debut during 2020.
Also named at Husqvarna for 2021 is Dylan Wills, who himself has immense experience with the brand and is regarded as one of the country's top young talents as he prepares to step up to the premier class in supercross. He will also be contesting MX2 outdoors within his own program.
Husqvarna Motorcycles will also bring their desert racing program back in-house, set to tackle the FINKE Desert Race with up-and-comer Callum Norton aboard the FE 501
Todd Waters: "To be remaining part of the Husqvarna family into 2021 is a big deal to me, an exciting project and one that I am happy to be involved in. We haven't been able to race nationally since winning the MX1 title in 2019, but it has been a busy year in its own ways and now we are definitely looking forward to getting back on track and working hard to defend the championship. I'm also looking forward to continuing off-road, gaining experience there and hopefully being in contention throughout the season."
Dylan Wills: "This is a dream come true for me, to be a part of a factory team in supercross and as a rookie on the FC 450. I will have great people behind me and the best equipment possible, so that is a great opportunity that I want to make the most of at this stage of my career and I'm thankful for everybody who has been involved to get this deal together. I'm going to be riding outdoors in MX2 with my own program as well, so we have solid plans in place and I'm looking forward to it all in 2021."
Callum Norton: "I am really excited to be able to go racing again and looking forward to what hopefully should be a good year! This will be my third FINKE desert race and I cannot wait to get out there on the Husky. I have always been attracted to desert racing, ever since I was a kid and went to watch the HATTAH race. Through my junior ranks I realised I liked sand and was pretty good at riding it, so when the opportunities came up when I turned Senior to focus on the desert style of racing, I jumped at the chance. And now to be part of the Husky team for 2021, I am so excited to get out there and see what we can do."
