Billy Bolt set for racing return with EnduroGP of Wales wildcard

Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Billy Bolt will make his highly anticipated return to competition this weekend, lining up as a wildcard entry at the 2026 FIM EnduroGP World Championship finale in Rhayader, Wales. The six-time SuperEnduro World Champion will contest the Enduro3 class on home soil as he returns to racing following the hand injury that sidelined him from his FIM Hard Enduro World Championship campaign.

Bolt began 2026 in outstanding form, securing his sixth consecutive FIM SuperEnduro World Championship title following another dominant indoor campaign. Switching his focus to hard enduro, the Brit opened his outdoor season with a runner-up result at Alestrem in France before battling through a hand injury to claim a hard-fought fifth at Extreme XL Lagares in Portugal. Prior to the injury, Billy had also been using sprint enduro events in Wales as part of his training programme, making his EnduroGP appearance a fitting return to competition following several months focused on recovery.

Competing aboard his Husqvarna TE 300, Bolt will take on the EnduroGP of Wales as a one-round wildcard entry. Having contested EnduroGP events previously, Billy is looking forward to returning to the discipline in front of a passionate home crowd. Familiar Welsh terrain should help the Husqvarna Factory Racing rider settle back into racing, while his unrivalled SuperEnduro experience is expected to serve him particularly well during Friday evening’s Super Test, where he will be targeting a strong result.

The EnduroGP of Wales takes place in Rhayader from August 7-9, with the Super Test opening the weekend’s action on Friday evening.

It’s been a tough few months with my hand taking much longer to heal than we were expecting, so I’ve missed a lot of time and actually had more than 3 months off the bike. I’m really excited to use this weekend to have some fun, enjoy the home crowd and get the ball rolling again in terms of being on the bike. I would have loved to have come here fit and with some classic enduro training to push for the best result possible, but unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be this year. Let’s see how the dates fall next year! Thanks to all the fans and my team for their patience over the last few months. Fabio Farioli – Husqvarna Factory Racing Enduro Team Manager: “It’s great that Billy is able to return racing and that he will do the final EnduroGP of the season. After such a long break from racing, the most important thing this weekend is for him to enjoy being back on the bike, build his confidence, and use the event as valuable preparation for the remaining Hard Enduro races. We originally considered racing the FE 450 in E2, but we decided the TE 300 in E3 made more sense as it’s the same bike he will use for the remainder of the season of Hard Enduro. He won’t be at 100 percent straight away, so there is no pressure in terms of results, but knowing Billy, I’m sure he will still follow his racing instinct! I’m really happy to see him back racing, especially in front of British fans”
