Pro Motocross calling for Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing will enter the 2025 AMA Pro Motocross Championship with Malcolm Stewart and RJ Hampshire equipped with the Husqvarna FC 450 Factory Edition, aiming to make their mark in the 450MX Class when the new season commences in Pala, California.

Fox Raceway will play host to Round 1 of the outdoor series that doubles as stage two of the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) this Saturday, May 24. The series will travel throughout the United States this summer, contested over 11 rounds and with the titles set to be decided at Budds Creek Motocross Park in Mechanicsville, Maryland, on August 23.

Fresh from finishing fourth in the AMA Supercross Championship, Stewart was also impressive in Pro Motocross last season on his way to sixth in the 450MX standings. The 32-year-old Floridian has the potential to further build upon his career form and is motivated to factor toward the front of the pack when the gates officially drop this weekend.

"I am really looking forward to another great season racing outdoors!" said Stewart. "So far, this has been a career year for myself getting that first win in Supercross! We had a good outdoor season in finishing sixth overall last year, so I’m looking forward to getting better results this year."

In making his anticipated full-time transition to the Husqvarna FC 450 Factory Edition ahead of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship, at 29 years of age Hampshire is supremely excited for the opportunity that he has earned. Last year he missed the majority of the outdoors while in the 250 Class, but managed a podium at the final round despite limited starts.

Now, after fighting for the 250SX East title in the AMA Supercross Championship and placing third in the final standings, Hampshire opens the next chapter in his career as an exciting new addition to the premier class with Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing. RJ underwent minor surgery to remove hardware in his previously-injured wrist following Salt Lake City, which the surgeon is confident will alleviate any pain experienced during the indoor series.

"Moving from a 250 to a 450 is a pivotal moment in any racer's career, and I’m excited to be making that transition for the outdoors with the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team," Hampshire stated. "I’ve always enjoyed riding a 450, and now I finally get the opportunity to race one full-time. We’ve been putting in the work to make the transition as smooth as possible, and I’m feeling confident and ready for the season to kick-off. After the way the Supercross championship ended, I’m more motivated than ever and ready to embrace the grind this summer."

Nathan Ramsey – Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team Manager: "As we transition from Supercross to the Pro Motocross season, I’m proud of the strides both Malcolm and RJ have made. Malcolm had an incredible Supercross season, earning his first 450SX career win in Tampa and consistently pushing toward the podium, finishing strong with a second-place in Salt Lake. With last year being his first full outdoor season on the 450 since 2013, he is entering this season even more prepared for outdoors, and I fully expect him to be a serious contender this summer. RJ’s season took a different path due to his injury and off-season surgery, but he showed his resilience by jumping into the East Coast series and giving it everything he had. Watching him battle through to the very end in Salt Lake was a testament to his determination. Now, as he makes the exciting move to the 450 Class for outdoors, it's a special moment for all of us at Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing to be a part of his journey from 250s to the 450. Although he recently had a minor procedure to remove the plate from his wrist, we’re confident in the medical team's assessment and believe he’ll perform at the high level we all expect. We’re fired up to get the Pro Motocross season started and can’t wait to see what these two 450 boys will deliver on the track."

Team USA has called upon RJ Hampshire as a late addition to its lineup for the 2025 FIM Motocross of Nations (MXoN), to be staged at Ironman Raceway from October 3-5. Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's Hampshire has been exceptional since stepping up to the Husqvarna FC 450 Factory Edition ahead of the Pro Motocross Championship this season, in which he finished fifth in the final 450MX standings. Hampshire continued that form in the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) Playoffs and Final, climbing to seventh position following another convincing showing during the post-season. Just over one week out from the Nations returning to American soil, Hampshire has been drafted into Team USA as a replacement rider and is incredibly excited for the opportunity to compete in the Open category at home. It will be the 29-year-old's second time representing his country in the historic international event, adding to his appearance in 2023 at Ernée, France. "I am really excited for the chance to represent our great country on home soil!" Hampshire commented. "I may not have been the first pick, but I’ll always answer the call, and you know I’ll give it everything I’ve got. Ironman is one of my favorite tracks and we’ve still got a strong team ready to go – see you all next weekend!" Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing is proud to provide its full support to Hampshire and Team USA in a bid to reclaim the Chamberlain Trophy in Indiana. The United States last won the MXoN in 2022 when it was staged at RedBud. "It’s such an honor when one of the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing athletes are selected for MXoN," explained Nathan Ramsey, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team Manager. "RJ is a perfect choice to represent the USA, as well as our team. He will no doubt give it everything he has to get the job done and we are more than happy to support him and Team USA!"

RJ Hampshire completes first 450SMX post-season with P6 in Las Vegas

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s RJ Hampshire charged to a hard-fought sixth-place result at the 2025 SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) Final in Las Vegas tonight, which saw the premier class newcomer claim a solid P7 in the standings to complete his first 450SMX post-season. Onboard the Husqvarna FC 450 Factory Edition, Hampshire set the fifth-fastest qualifying time on what was a mixture of tight, technical sections, combined with high-paced outdoor obstacles and sand elements. An average start in Moto 1 had his work cut out for him, although an inspired charge saw RJ finish in sixth position. An improved start to Moto 2 had Hampshire in the battle throughout the early stages, although a deteriorating race track kept the Florida native measured in his approach, posting a convincing fifth-place result to complete what was a successful series. Hampshire entered the premier 450 division full-time at the beginning of this year’s Pro Motocross Championship after taking the 250SX East Class title down to the final round and ultimately placing third. The impressive 29-year-old then went on to establish himself as a regular top-five contender in both the outdoors – where he finished P5 in the 450MX standings – and the 450SMX post-season. “All in all, it was another solid weekend!” reflected Hampshire. “I felt good on the bike in timed qualifying, then didn't get the best start in Moto 1, but I felt like I rode well. The second moto, I got a good start, but I felt a little tight in the beginning and I figured it wasn't worth risking it too much out there. I didn't feel overly comfortable on the high-speed sections, but I think overall I was sixth for tonight. It was a solid few races of SMX, and I'm excited to be leading into next year with a solid base." 450SMX teammate Malcolm Stewart remained on the sidelines for the Las Vegas SMX Final, still recovering from an incident at Playoff 1. The 32-year-old enjoyed a solid regular season campaign in 2025, earning fourth in 450SX – which featured a career-first win in Tampa – as well as seventh overall in Pro Motocross.
