Rally riding is one of the toughest and more extreme disciplines of motorcycle sport. Bold and adventurous competitors spend long hours on the bike in hostile terrain, negotiating the ground at speed while navigating their course. The most celebrated of the international events has to be the Dakar Rally held every January, a fearsome challenge for riders and machines and eagerly anticipated by sports fans globally.

Of course, where there’s such a challenge you will find Husqvarna Motorcycles, which has consolidated its position as a dominant force in all offroad racing activities since the introduction of the global Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team in 2015.

FR 450 Rally mounted rider Pablo Quintanilla secured a personal-best second place overall in Dakar Rally 2020  -  this  superb  result  also  marked  the  greatest-ever  result for Husqvarna Motorcycles at the world’s toughest rally. In the 2021 Dakar, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Luciano Benavides crashed out in Stage 9 while lying third in the competition. However team-mate Pablo Quintanilla rode to seventh-place overall in the 2021 event.

Husqvarna Motorcycles has further strengthened its rally challenge with the signing of Skyler Howes to the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team. Exceptional rides in both the 2020 and 2021 Dakar Rally saw the Utah resident finish inside the top 10 and as leading privateer – the highlight being an impressive fifth overall at 2021 event. Skyler will be lining up with Luciano Benavides at the 2021 FIM Cross-Country Rallies World Championship and 2022 Dakar Rally.
