P2 podium celebrations for Malcolm Stewart at Salt Lake City Supercross finale

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing and Malcolm Stewart celebrated a well-earned second-place result at the final round of the 2025 AMA Supercross Championship in Salt Lake City tonight, with a consistently strong series resulting in him claiming P4 in the final 450SX standings. RJ Hampshire, who entered the round in title contention, placed third in the 250SX East series.

Stewart rode his Husqvarna FC 450 Factory Edition to the fifth-fastest 450SX qualifying time inside Rice-Eccles Stadium, before putting up an immense challenge for the Heat Race victory, coming up just shy of the checkered flag in second position.

Come the Main Event, Stewart would methodically climb his way into P2 on what was a dry, difficult racetrack, fending off challenges from behind to successfully capture a podium score to conclude the 2025 season.

Stewart pieced together an outstanding performance across the 17-round Supercross schedule, which included a breakout first-career premier class victory in Tampa, alongside a further two podium results in Birmingham and Utah.

After challenging for a podium in the championship toward the latter stages of the series, Mookie would conclude his season in a confidence-inspiring fourth place overall.

"Tonight was awesome," commented Stewart. "These last few weeks at altitude have been solid for us, and when I got into second position tonight for a split second I couldn’t hear my motorcycle – these fans were so loud! It was a great race for me, we did everything that we could, and I’m just stoked to end this championship with a second-place finish. We made a lot of progress this year, because last year we were coming back from injury and I was just overthinking things. Tampa really turned things around for me with having the confidence of being able to run at the front, so all-in-all, I'm really happy and excited to go racing outdoors.”

For Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing teammate Hampshire, last year's 250SX West Class Champion entered Salt Lake City with a chance at claiming the Eastern Division title, and began the day by posting the fifth-quickest qualifying time overall.

A fall while running P2 in his Heat Race sent Hampshire to the LCQ, where he would take the win and seal a place in the Main Event. After a hard charge from just outside the top 10, the number 24 would make his way up into title contention onboard his Husqvarna FC 250 Factory Edition.

An untimely late crash while challenging for position with five minutes remaining on the clock unfortunately put an end to RJ's title hopes at that point, remounting to finish in sixth, which placed him third overall in the final point-standings.

"Today was a very eventful day," reflected Hampshire. "I felt good on the bike, then the Heat Race didn’t go so well after having a big one that sent me to my first LCQ in a couple of years. That’s always stressful, so then the outside gate pick for the Main gave me an average start, but I put my head down and charged. I had a chance for the championship at the end there and I went for it, which didn’t go in my favor and it's unfortunate to take us both down. Overall, I did everything I could, I tried, and we’ll leave here and move on – I'm looking forward to this next chapter of my career."

RJ Hampshire completes first 450SMX post-season with P6 in Las Vegas

Visualizza profilo
Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s RJ Hampshire charged to a hard-fought sixth-place result at the 2025 SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) Final in Las Vegas tonight, which saw the premier class newcomer claim a solid P7 in the standings to complete his first 450SMX post-season. Onboard the Husqvarna FC 450 Factory Edition, Hampshire set the fifth-fastest qualifying time on what was a mixture of tight, technical sections, combined with high-paced outdoor obstacles and sand elements. An average start in Moto 1 had his work cut out for him, although an inspired charge saw RJ finish in sixth position. An improved start to Moto 2 had Hampshire in the battle throughout the early stages, although a deteriorating race track kept the Florida native measured in his approach, posting a convincing fifth-place result to complete what was a successful series. Hampshire entered the premier 450 division full-time at the beginning of this year’s Pro Motocross Championship after taking the 250SX East Class title down to the final round and ultimately placing third. The impressive 29-year-old then went on to establish himself as a regular top-five contender in both the outdoors – where he finished P5 in the 450MX standings – and the 450SMX post-season. “All in all, it was another solid weekend!” reflected Hampshire. “I felt good on the bike in timed qualifying, then didn't get the best start in Moto 1, but I felt like I rode well. The second moto, I got a good start, but I felt a little tight in the beginning and I figured it wasn't worth risking it too much out there. I didn't feel overly comfortable on the high-speed sections, but I think overall I was sixth for tonight. It was a solid few races of SMX, and I'm excited to be leading into next year with a solid base." 450SMX teammate Malcolm Stewart remained on the sidelines for the Las Vegas SMX Final, still recovering from an incident at Playoff 1. The 32-year-old enjoyed a solid regular season campaign in 2025, earning fourth in 450SX – which featured a career-first win in Tampa – as well as seventh overall in Pro Motocross. RJ Hampshire takes P6 overall in St. Louis to complete second SMX Playoff round

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s RJ Hampshire raced to a well-earned sixth-place result at the second SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) Playoff round in St. Louis, Missouri, racing forward throughout both 450SMX motos tonight. Equipped with his Husqvarna FC 450 Factory Edition, Hampshire set the fourth-fastest qualifying time on what was an extended, technical course within The Dome at America’s Center, before a climb through the field in the first outing saw him land seventh position. Another mid-field start in Moto 2 had the premier class newcomer Hampshire playing catch-up throughout the 20-minute plus-one-lap duration, with the 29-year-old powering to an improved P6 finish, and claiming sixth overall for the weekend. Just seven points separate Hampshire – currently ranked eighth – and fourth position in the 450SMX championship standings, with triple points on the line in Las Vegas set to shake up the overall placements one final time in season 2025. “All-in-all, it was a solid weekend,” commented Hampshire. “Nothing too special, I just clicked off my laps and managed to post a good one in qualifying for P4. I had good speed in Moto 1, but just a couple of mistakes cost me a bit, but I felt really good for it being my first kind of Supercross-type race on the 450. I was stoked on how everything felt and I know that we’ll continue to make progress. Second moto, again not a great start, but on a track that was hard to pass, it’s decent that we’re leaving here with a sixth place. We’ll take it, and now we’ll come out firing for the last one in Las Vegas.” Despite an attempt to ride in the first qualifying session, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing 450SMX teammate Malcolm Stewart ultimately withdrew from racing at SMX Playoff 2 while still recovering from the effects of a minor back injury suffered last weekend. Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Amateur Factory Elite prospect Landon Gibson was also in action for the 2025 SMX Next World All-Stars in St. Louis, record an eighth-place result during Friday's opening race of the weekend, before finishing ninth tonight onboard his Husqvarna FC 250 Factory Edition. Top-five score for RJ Hampshire in Charlotte SMX Playoff opener

Visualizza profilo
Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s RJ Hampshire raced to a solid top-five score at the opening 2025 SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) Playoff event in Concord, North Carolina, on Saturday, with a hard-fought fifth position in the first 450SMX moto yielding P5 overall for the weekend. Equipped with the Husqvarna FC 450 Factory Edition, Hampshire set the seventh-fastest qualifying time on what was a high-speed layout at zMAX Dragway, before a rapid climb through the pack in the first race saw him take a convincing fifth-place result. Major storms then rolled into the Charlotte area directly after the conclusion of the opening premier class moto, which drew an early end to the day’s proceedings due to a lengthy lightning delay. Those Moto 1 results then determined for the overall in the first of three post-season events, with Hampshire elevating himself to P7 in the standings as a result. “Charlotte was pretty good, I just felt as though I kept growing every time I hit the track,” commented Hampshire. “We were just steadily building, and today was even better than yesterday. The moto was solid, too. I didn’t get a great start, but I stuck to my game plan and clicked off consistent laps to earn a top-five – I’m stoked! That was the goal coming in, so I’m happy to be leaving here with a fifth place and looking forward to St Louis next weekend.” Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing teammate Malcolm Stewart withdrew from racing at SMX Playoff 1 due to an incident on Friday that resulted in lower back pain, keeping him out of the remainder of the weekend. With a week in between rounds, the 32-year-old is aiming to lineup for Playoff 2 in St. Louis next weekend. Next Race: September 13 – St. Louis, Missouri Results 450SMX Class – SMX Playoff 1 1.
